FAQ

1) What is PeakSync?

PeakSync is a subscription that gives you five S&P 500 factor sleeves and five prebuilt S&P 500 model portfolios built from those sleeves—updated monthly, with downloadable holdings and a news-sentiment overlay.

2) What’s the difference between a “sleeve” and a “portfolio”?

A sleeve is a single factor-based ranking model (ex: Momentum, Quality, Sentiment etc.). A portfolio blends multiple sleeves into a diversified model designed to match a risk profile or style.

3) Who is PeakSync for?

PeakSync is built for investors who want more than index funds, prefer rules over gut feel, like seeing long-term stats (CAGR/Sharpe/drawdown), and want portfolios they can implement through their existing brokerage or advisor.

4) Do you execute trades or manage my money?

No. You control execution. PeakSync provides models and research—you decide whether and how to implement them in your own account.

5) How often are portfolios updated, and how do I implement changes?
PeakSync updates holdings monthly (rankings refresh, sleeves refresh, and portfolio constituent lists update).  Portfolios are equal-weight at entry, then weights drift with the market between updates.

On each monthly update, implementation is simple:

  • Sell positions that are no longer in the current model list

  • Use proceeds to buy the new entrants

  • Leave the remaining holdings unchanged (drift is intentional)

6) How many positions are typically held?

Portfolios typically hold 30–70 positions, depending on the sleeve/portfolio and the rebalance approach.

7) Do I need fractional shares (or a large account) to follow PeakSync?
No. Fractional shares can help you match weights more precisely, but they aren’t required. If your broker doesn’t support fractional shares, you can approximate positions with whole shares and still follow the model—your weights will simply drift a bit more over time.

8) Do you rebalance back to equal weights every month?
Not necessarily. PeakSync is designed for a constituent refresh approach: the portfolios are built to start equal-weight, then allow weights to drift while only changing names as the monthly model updates. Some investors prefer to rebalance back to equal weights periodically; that’s optional and depends on your preferences, taxes, and trading constraints.

9) What is the news-sentiment overlay—and is this day trading?

The sentiment overlay scores news flow to help down-rank chronic negative narratives and favor improving stories—while staying explainable. This is not day trading; it’s designed to improve selection and risk control within a systematic process.

10) Are the performance numbers “real”? What does “hypothetical backtest” mean?

Performance figures shown are hypothetical backtests based on specific rules, assumptions, and data sources, and are shown before fees and taxes. Real-world results will differ, and past performance is not indicative of future results.

11) Does PeakSync provide personalized investment advice?

No. PeakSync provides information for educational and informational purposes only and does not provide personalized investment advice. You are responsible for your own investment decisions and risk management.

12) What risks should I understand before using model portfolios?

All investing involves risk, including the risk of loss. Model portfolios can experience meaningful drawdowns and periods of underperformance versus the S&P 500. You should understand your time horizon, risk tolerance, concentration risk, and turnover/transaction costs before implementing.

13) What’s included in the subscription besides holdings?

In addition to sleeves and portfolios, PeakSync includes an AI-powered research terminal with tools like a macro dashboard, research analyst, news brief, signals/downloads, and a risk desk.

14) How do billing and cancellation work?

You can cancel anytime. If you cancel, you’ll retain access through the end of your billing period.
